I coordinate donations at the Unity Family Centre in Kingston. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes kids' 3 to 5 and women's S-L. If you're in Kingston, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Unity Family Centre on Wednesday between 11am and 2pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Unity Family Centre clothing bank, which is open to everyone. If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

  • You're not alone, Sheldon. Gave what I could, wish it was more.

    • This could happen to any of us. I'm in teaching myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. All the best.

      • It takes guts to ask. Well done. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Greetings from Cairo.

Sending strength. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. I have a 9 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
