I coordinate donations at Cedar Women's Shelter in Liverpool. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes kids' 3 to 5 and women's S-L. If you're in Liverpool, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at Cedar Women's Shelter on Friday between 9am and 4pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the Cedar Women's Shelter clothing bank, which is open to everyone. I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Good luck, Doris. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Liverpool

    • keep going, Doris. I hope things turn around soon.
