A ramp for Camille: volunteers and tools needed

Camille uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.

Camille has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Camille can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Camille's family will cook lunch for the team. You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

  • Hope it all works out. It takes guts to ask. Well done. It's not much but it's yours

    • Hope it all works out. I hope things turn around soon. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.

      • Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. Sent it to 37 people at work.

        • best of luck. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Take care
