I coordinate donations at the Baobab Family Centre in Çankaya. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled.
We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes kids' 3 to 5 and women's S-L. If you're in Çankaya, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Baobab Family Centre on Saturday between 10am and 2pm.
If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate.
Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Baobab Family Centre clothing bank, which is open to everyone.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

You're not alone, Özlem. I hope things turn around soon
Wishing you the best. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Take care.
Wishing you the best, Özlem. This could happen to any of us. Put this on a community board in Khulna this morning. Love from Khulna.
Thinking of you. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. I'll check back for the next update. God bless
You're not alone. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Jakarta Selatan.
