Weekly meals for neighbors in need in San Antonio
Julián runs a volunteer pantry feeding 142 families; this fund restocks shelves for the rainy season.

Since 2021, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Tuesday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 22 families, and now we feed 142 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 42% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 11 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the San Antonio market and keep every receipt.
Each $50 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $2,350 goes:
• Baby formula and diapers: $400
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $800
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,150
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Julián!
It's all in the list in the story. baby formula and diapers is the big one at $400, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Ask me anything else.
Thanks for sharing this. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. It's not much but it's yours. All the best
Hope it all works out, Julián. Great idea, hope you get there. Wish I lived closer to Iztapalapa so I could bring a meal.
good luck. Looking forward to the next update. Greetings from Berlin.
