Weekly meals for families facing hunger in Glasgow
The Community Pantry pantry in Glasgow is running low just as demand rises; $2,450 will stock it for 11 weeks.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Wednesday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 22 families, and now we feed 159 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 30% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 7 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Glasgow market and keep every receipt.
Each $25 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $2,450 goes:
• Baby formula and diapers: $230
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $980
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,240

Small update. $174 so far, I made the first payment toward fresh vegetables and fruit.
