Boulogne-Billancourt
My family left the Democratic Republic of Congo 11 months ago after the conflict closed our school and clinic. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Boulogne-Billancourt. We're a family of five and we're safe, but we arrived with very little. Our resettlement agency has provided 3 months of rent, and that support ends in September. I was a nurse in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well. We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months. All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent). Where the $3,550 goes: • Rent deposit and first month: $1,350 • Beds, table and basic furniture: $1,150 • Winter clothing and school supplies: $330 • Language classes and bus passes: $580 • Phone and internet for school and job search: $140 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot. - Thomas

  • Sending strength. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Greetings from Nairobi.

    • You're not alone, Thomas. Gave what I could, wish it was more

      • Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. All the best

        • This could happen to any of us. Thinking of Boulogne-Billancourt.

          • Hope things get better soon, Thomas. I hope things turn around soon. Put this on a community board in Los Angeles this morning
