Weekly meals for families and seniors in Tangier
The the Thursday Table pantry in Tangier is running low just as demand rises; $750 will stock it for 8 weeks.

Since 2023, our volunteer team has run the Thursday Table every Friday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 25 families, and now we feed 165 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 51% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 19 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Tangier market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $750 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $380
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $220
• Baby formula and diapers: $115
• Refrigeration and electricity: $35
