Weekly meals for families and seniors in Québec
Help keep a free food pantry open for families and seniors in Québec.
🇨🇦 Québec, Quebec, Canada802 views
Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Neighbors' Pantry every Thursday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 15 families, and now we feed 288 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 35% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 16 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Québec market and keep every receipt.
Each $45 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $1,600 goes:
• Refrigeration and electricity: $135
• Baby formula and diapers: $420
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $1,045
Thanks for being kind about this.

Thank you. If you're in Québec I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Good question.
