Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Wednesday from the back of a community center. We started with 24 families, and now we feed 225 each week. Donations have dropped by about 43% this winter, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 11 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Manukau market and keep every receipt. Each $25 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $2,600 goes: • Refrigeration and electricity: $350 • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,600 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $650 I hope life is good to you. - Ellie

  • Sending strength. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I'm in public service myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Take care
