A weekly visit for Aiden, 90, who lives alone in Birmingham

Aiden lives alone and has no family nearby; a weekly hour of conversation would transform the week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Aiden, who's 90. Aiden lives alone in Birmingham, and lost a spouse of many years last year. The nearest family lives on the other side of the country. Aiden loves chess, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Friday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. Thank you for reading my story.
