Weekly meals for families and seniors in Gaziantep
Help keep a free food pantry open for families and seniors in Gaziantep.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Tuesday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 29 families, and now we feed 89 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 34% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 12 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Gaziantep market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $600 goes:
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $260
• Refrigeration and electricity: $45
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $295

Sending strength, Duygu. Great idea, hope you get there. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.
Can I help in a way that isn't money? I'm near Gaziantep.
Thank you. If you're in Gaziantep I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Happy to explain more.
More neighborhoods should do this. It's not much but it's yours
rooting for you. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Sent it to 37 people at work.

Sending good thoughts. This could happen to any of us. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Take care.
