Volunteer day: Refugee Welcome Picnic, Barranquilla

We're short of hands for the Refugee Welcome Picnic; can you spare a morning?

Every year the Refugee Welcome Picnic brings together 504 neighbors in Barranquilla. I help organize it with 6 other volunteers, and this year our numbers are down. We need people for set-up, serving, translation and clean-up. Shifts are two to three hours long and you can pick the one that suits you. Food and drinks are provided for all volunteers. It's a long-standing tradition, and our goal is to keep it free. No experience is necessary - we'll brief everyone at the start of the day. If you can come with a friend, even better. Please say in the comments which shift works for you. Thanks for being kind about this.

  • Take care, Cristina. Your post was clear and honest. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. God bless.

    • Thanks for sharing this, Cristina. Hope this works out for you. My neighbor in Nakhon Ratchasima donated after I showed her your page. Thinking of Barranquilla
