Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Saturday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 27 families, and now we feed 119 each week. Donations have dropped by about 44% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 13 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the San Francisco market and keep every receipt. Each $45 feeds a family of four for a week. I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday. Where the $2,600 goes: • Baby formula and diapers: $590 • Refrigeration and electricity: $360 • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,650 Glad we found this place.

  1. Thank you all. We're at 35% now ($905). I'm honestly stunned. the plan for rice, beans, flour and oil is now scheduled.

  2. We're at 18% thanks to 9 of you. I met with the wholesaler and confirmed the amounts. More news soon.

  3. Quick update: $194 raised so far (7%). the plan for refrigeration and electricity is now scheduled. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
