Weekly meals for families and seniors in Çankaya
The the Second Helping pantry in Çankaya is running low just as demand rises; $900 will stock it for 9 weeks.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Thursday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 23 families, and now we feed 175 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 48% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 12 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Çankaya market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $900 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $350
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $320
• Baby formula and diapers: $135
• Refrigeration and electricity: $95
