I coordinate donations at the Pioneer Community Church in Recife. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes 2 to 14 years. If you're in Recife, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Pioneer Community Church on Friday between 9am and 2pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Pioneer Community Church clothing bank, which is open to everyone. Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Stay strong, Heloísa. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My husband and I read this together. All the best.

                          • thanks for sharing this. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. After 17 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything
