Roofing help wanted: Carol's home in Birmingham
Carol, a disabled veteran, needs a few skilled and unskilled helpers for a 1-weekend roof repair in Birmingham.

I'm a disabled veteran living in Birmingham. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 3 places, and the living room is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $6,250, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the corrugated iron sheets and timber. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for 4-6 people who can help over a weekend.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is work boots and a hat. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Thanks for sharing this. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. God bless.
