Volunteers needed to fix a leaking roof for Yolanda in Bogotá
Could you spare one long weekend to help repair a leaking roof in Bogotá?

I'm a single mother of three living in Bogotá. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 4 places, and the kids' bedroom is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $1,600, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the corrugated iron sheets and timber. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for 4-6 people who can help over one long weekend.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is sturdy shoes, gloves and a willingness to work. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Sending strength, Yolanda. Looking forward to the next update. I hope September is when things finally get easier. Blessings.
best of luck, Yolanda. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Wish I lived closer to Durham so I could bring a meal.
Sending love, Yolanda. Shared it with a few friends. Greetings from Sakai.
keep going, Yolanda. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Thinking of Bogotá.
