Volunteers needed to fix a leaking roof for Savannah in Lexington
Savannah, a night-shift nurse, needs a few skilled and unskilled helpers for a 1-weekend roof repair in Lexington.
🇺🇸 Kentucky, United States902 views
I'm a night-shift nurse living in Lexington. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 2 places, and the kitchen is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $4,150, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the corrugated iron sheets and timber. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for anyone handy who can help over three weekday mornings.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is to be comfortable with heights or willing to help from the ground. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
I hope life is good to you.

I hope things turn around soon. Love from Chicago.
So sorry you're going through this, Savannah. Hope you get there. All the best
Sending good thoughts, Savannah. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. It's not much but it's yours. Love from London.
Take care. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. I'm in hospitality myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.
Best of luck, Savannah. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Blessings.
