The roof at Rakib's home is failing; materials are donated and we need hands.

I'm a disabled veteran living in Gazipur. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 3 places, and the living room is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $310, which isn't something I can pay. The good news: a local hardware store has donated the corrugated iron sheets and timber. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for a small crew who can help over one long weekend. Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is sturdy shoes, gloves and a willingness to work. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks. The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too. Thank you for reading my story.

  • Sending strength, Rakib. Looking forward to the next update. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Thinking of Gazipur.

    • Thinking of you, Rakib. Shared this with my family. Wish I lived closer to Kingston so I could bring a meal.

      • Thinking of you and your family, Rakib. Gave what I could, wish it was more. It's not much but it's yours. Thinking of Gazipur

        • Sending strength, Rakib. It takes guts to ask. Well done

          • Stay strong. This could happen to any of us. After 22 years in engineering I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Blessings.
