Volunteers needed to fix a leaking roof for Maryam in Peoria
The roof at Maryam's home is failing; materials are donated and we need hands.

I'm a school janitor living in Peoria. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 3 places, and the kids' bedroom is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $3,150, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the tiles and battens. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for three or four volunteers who can help over three weekday mornings.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is sturdy shoes, gloves and a willingness to work. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

hope you get there. Love from Niterói.
Wishing you peace, Maryam. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Blessings.
best of luck, Maryam. Your post was clear and honest. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
sending strength. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My neighbor in San Diego donated after I showed her your page. All the best.
you're not alone, Maryam. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust.
