Help keep a free food pantry open for families facing hunger in Barranquilla.

Since 2021, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Wednesday from the back of a community center. We started with 18 families, and now we feed 289 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 57% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 18 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Barranquilla market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $350 goes:
• Baby formula and diapers: $85
• Refrigeration and electricity: $75
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $190
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Thinking of Barranquilla.
Rooting for you, Verónica. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in.
So sorry you're going through this. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I have a 13 year old who wants to send good wishes too. All the best.
Wishing you peace, Verónica. Shared it with a few friends. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Thinking of Barranquilla
Rooting for you, Verónica. Shared this with my family. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.
