I'm a disabled veteran living in Bogotá. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 4 places, and the bathroom is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $480, which isn't something I can pay. The good news: a local hardware store has donated the tiles and battens. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for three or four volunteers who can help over one long weekend. Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is sturdy shoes, gloves and a willingness to work. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks. The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too. Glad we found this place.

  • Hope it all works out. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. Put this on a community board in Ankara this morning. Love from Ankara.

    • Keep going, Joaquín. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon.

      • best of luck, Joaquín. Your post was clear and honest. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. All the best
