The roof at Femi's home is failing; materials are donated and we need hands.

Badagry
I'm a retired bus driver living in Badagry. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 2 places, and the kids' bedroom is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $450, which isn't something I can pay. The good news: a local hardware store has donated the roofing sheets and nails. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for anyone handy who can help over a weekend. Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is sturdy shoes, gloves and a willingness to work. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks. The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too. Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

  • Hope things get better soon, Femi. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. Greetings from Verona

    • Thinking of you and your family, Femi. It takes guts to ask. Well done.

      • Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Greetings from Dar es Salaam.

        • hope things get better soon. Gave what I could, wish it was more. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.

          • Thinking of you and your family. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend!
