Volunteers needed to fix a leaking roof for Elaine in Recife
Could you spare one long weekend to help repair a leaking roof in Recife?

I'm a night-shift nurse living in Recife. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 2 places, and the kitchen is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $1,150, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the shingles and underlay. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for a small crew who can help over one long weekend.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is sturdy shoes, gloves and a willingness to work. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

so sorry you're going through this, Elaine. Hope this works out for you. We're a small family in Antalya but we're thinking of you. All the best.
Rooting for you. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I'm in farming myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. God bless
Wishing you peace, Elaine. Your post was clear and honest. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Love from Mukono.
Sending love, Elaine. Shared this with my family.
You're not alone. Your post was clear and honest. My husband and I read this together.
