Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Wednesday from the back of a community center. We started with 25 families, and now we feed 125 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 48% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 11 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Duque de Caxias market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $850 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $530
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $140
• Baby formula and diapers: $105
• Refrigeration and electricity: $75
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

Take care. I hope things turn around soon. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Take care
