Volunteers needed to fix a leaking roof for Chalerm in Bangkok
Could you spare a weekend to help repair a leaking roof in Bangkok?
🇹🇭 Bangkok, Thailand438 views
I'm a disabled veteran living in Bangkok. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 2 places, and the living room is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $640, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the tiles and battens. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for three or four volunteers who can help over a weekend.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is to be comfortable with heights or willing to help from the ground. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

so sorry you're going through this, Chalerm. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. Thinking of Bangkok.
take care, Chalerm. Gave what I could, wish it was more.
this could happen to any of us. I hope October is when things finally get easier. God bless
