Violet needs my tuk-tuk repaired to get back to work in San Diego
Violet drives for a living in San Diego, and a broken engine head gasket has stopped all income for 6 weeks.
🇺🇸 California, United States1,280 views
I make my living with my tuk-tuk. 6 weeks ago the engine head gasket failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $1,350. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my family of five. Before the breakdown I worked ten hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next four months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal.
Where the $1,350 goes:
• engine head gasket replacement (parts): $560
• Labor charges: $370
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $320
• Towing and inspection: $100
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Sending strength, Violet. This could happen to any of us. Blessings
reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. After 21 years in construction I know how hard it's to ask for anything. God bless.
sending strength. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. I'm in retail myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Blessings
Take care, Violet. I hope things turn around soon. Thinking of San Diego.
