Veteran in need: Peter's next mission is stability
Peter served fourteen years in the air force; $750 would cover a deposit on a one-bedroom apartment.

I served fourteen years in the air force and was discharged in 2023 with a back injury. I have been waiting eleven months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a deposit on a one-bedroom apartment. The quote I have comes to $750.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden.
Where the $750 goes:
• Training provider fees: $230
• Housing deposit and first month: $330
• Transport to appointments: $100
• Essential household items: $90
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Peter!
Sure. The biggest one is training provider fees, $230. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. I'll keep the page updated.
Best of luck, Peter. Shared it with a few friends. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Embakasi
Keep going, Peter. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes.
Thinking of you, Peter. It takes guts to ask. Well done. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Blessings
