Veteran in need: Kato's next mission is stability
An infantry veteran in Nairobi needs help with a first month of rent and transport to job interviews after leaving service with hearing damage and PTSD.
🇰🇪 Kenya937 views
I served four years in the infantry and was discharged in 2025 with hearing damage and PTSD. I have been waiting seven months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a first month of rent and transport to job interviews. The quote I have comes to $350.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
Money will be paid to the training provider and the landlord directly.
Where the $350 goes:
• Housing deposit and first month: $175
• Essential household items: $55
• Transport to appointments: $120
Thank you so much.
