Udom was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer in May. The oncology team at Bangkok University Hospital has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in July. He will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Udom is 53, worked as a nurse until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Bangkok University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $950 goes:
• Transport to Bangkok University Hospital: $260
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $120
• Scans and lab work: $380
• Household costs while unable to work: $190
