Two weekends of roof repair for Shyam, a retired bus driver in Lalitpur
The roof at Shyam's home is failing; materials are donated and we need hands.

I'm a retired bus driver living in Lalitpur. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 4 places, and the living room is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $320, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the tiles and battens. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for three or four volunteers who can help over two Saturdays.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is sturdy shoes, gloves and a willingness to work. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Good luck. Shared this with my family. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Blessings
reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Put this on a community board in Móstoles this morning.
So sorry you're going through this, Shyam. Hope this works out for you. Wish I lived closer to São Paulo so I could bring a meal.
Wishing you peace, Shyam. Looking forward to the next update. Wish I lived closer to Fort Worth so I could bring a meal.
