Two weekends of roof repair for Autumn, a home-care aide in Birmingham
The roof at Autumn's home is failing; materials are donated and we need hands.

I'm a home-care aide living in Birmingham. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 2 places, and the kids' bedroom is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $3,500, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the roofing sheets and nails. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for 4-6 people who can help over three weekday mornings.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is work boots and a hat. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Take care. I hope things turn around soon. I have a 14 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Take care.
Stay strong, Autumn. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. I'll check back for the next update.
Sending love. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Greetings from São Paulo.
So sorry you're going through this. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Sent it to 23 people at work. All the best.
