Two weekends of roof repair for Alejandra, a retired bus driver in San Jose
Could you spare one long weekend to help repair a leaking roof in San Jose?

I'm a retired bus driver living in San Jose. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 4 places, and the living room is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $3,550, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the roofing sheets and nails. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for three or four volunteers who can help over one long weekend.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is work boots and a hat. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

Best of luck. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Thinking of San Jose
