Embakasi
Kimani is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a master's in public health at Embakasi University, and is one term away from graduating. He has worked as a night-shift cleaner to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,050. The registrar has said Kimani can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Kimani has a distinction average, and a professor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Kimani would lose his place and scholarship eligibility. Kimani isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Embakasi University bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $1,050 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $450 • Final term tuition: $520 • Exam and lab fees: $15 • Textbooks and materials: $65 Thanks for being kind about this.
