Irma is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a diploma in hospitality management at Medan Community College, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a shop assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,050.
The registrar has said Irma can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Irma has a top-ten-percent average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Irma would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Irma isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Medan Community College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.

• Final term tuition: $550
