Frank is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a degree in social work at Manchester State College, and is one term away from graduating. He has worked as a night-shift cleaner to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $4,750.
The registrar has said Frank can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Frank has a 3.8 average, and a department head has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Frank would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Frank isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Manchester State College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $4,750 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $2,100
• Final term tuition: $2,200
• Exam and lab fees: $110
• Textbooks and materials: $340
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
