A first-generation student, Caleb needs help covering tuition for the final stretch of a degree in social work.

I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a degree in social work at Oakland State College, and I'm two terms away from graduating. I have worked as a delivery rider to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $5,300.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.9 average, and my professor has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Oakland State College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $5,300 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $1,850
• Textbooks and materials: $290
• Final term tuition: $3,160
Glad we found this place.
