The Sycamore health centre yard needs a solar-powered water pump - Tyler's neighborhood project
Volunteers in San Jose are raising $3,850 for a solar-powered water pump at the Sycamore health centre yard.
🇺🇸 San Jose, California, United States1,899 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Sycamore health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $730, and the remaining cost is $3,850.
It will serve about 234 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $3,850 goes:
• Materials: $2,950
• Permits and inspections: $155
• Safety equipment and signage: $230
• Tools hire and delivery: $515
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Sending love. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We're a small family in London but we're thinking of you. Blessings.
Hope it all works out, Tyler. This could happen to any of us. My husband and I read this together. Thinking of San Jose.
Thinking of you, Tyler. Looking forward to the next update!
