My family left Ethiopia 9 months ago after we were targeted for our work. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Khulna. We're a family of four and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 4 months of rent, and that support ends in September.
I was a nurse in Ethiopia, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent).
Where the $400 goes:
• Beds, table and basic furniture: $200
• Rent deposit and first month: $140
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $20
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $40
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

So sorry you're going through this, Noman. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Blessings
how is Noman doing now?
rooting for you, Noman. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I went through something like this 12 years ago and strangers helped me out.
Wishing you the best, Noman. Your post was clear and honest. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Thinking of Khulna
Best of luck, Noman. This could happen to any of us. God bless
Rooting for you. Shared it with a few friends. Greetings from Portland.
Wishing you peace. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 27 years in social work I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
Thinking of you and your family. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I went through something like this 11 years ago and strangers helped me out. Love from Antalya
Wishing you peace. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Love from Üsküdar!
So sorry you're going through this, Noman. Gave what I could, wish it was more. After 18 years in social work I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Love from Jerusalem!
