The Shevchenko family fled Eritrea - help them rebuild in Valencia

After fleeing Eritrea, the Shevchenko family has arrived in Valencia with little more than their documents. They need help with a deposit, furniture and the first months.

My family left Eritrea 9 months ago after we could no longer live safely. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Valencia. We're a family of six and we're safe, but we arrived with very little. Our resettlement agency has provided 4 months of rent, and that support ends in June. I was a teacher in Eritrea, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well. We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months. All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent). Where the $1,000 goes: • Phone and internet for school and job search: $155 • Language classes and bus passes: $350 • Beds, table and basic furniture: $495 Thank you so much. - Alberto

everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I went through something like this 7 years ago and strangers helped me out. God bless.
