The electricity account is 4 months behind. Eleanor received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on October unless $500 is paid. She had never been late before losing my job in August.
Eleanor called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $125 first, which isn't available.
The household includes two young children, and going through the rainy season without electricity isn't safe. We can't cook, keep medicine cold or heat the home.
Eleanor is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady.
Every dollar goes to the account in Eleanor's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates.
