The Sahin family fled Somalia - help them rebuild in Columbus
Help a family of 3 start their new life in Columbus: furniture, rent deposit and language classes.
🇺🇸 United States354 views
My family left Somalia 5 months ago after the war reached our town. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Columbus. We're a family of six and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 4 months of rent, and that support ends in November.
I was a teacher in Somalia, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent).
Where the $4,200 goes:
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $240
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $550
• Rent deposit and first month: $2,600
• Beds, table and basic furniture: $810
