The Pioneer health centre yard needs a community garden - Huda's neighborhood project
A community-led a community garden at the Pioneer health centre yard that will serve 461 neighbors.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $550.
It will serve about 461 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $550 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $195
• Tools hire and delivery: $175
• Safety equipment and signage: $180
