The old Union bus depot needs a sensory garden for children with autism - Patrick's neighborhood project
Volunteers in San Diego are raising $3,700 for a sensory garden for children with autism at the old Union bus depot.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 20 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Union bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $3,700.
It will serve about 277 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $3,700 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $430
• Materials: $3,050
• Permits and inspections: $220
Glad we found this place.

Take care, Patrick. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't give up. All the best
