The old Maple bus depot needs a skate park - Rashid's neighborhood project
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a skate park - we need $450 for materials.
🇵🇰 Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan859 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Maple bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $450.
It will serve about 592 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $450 goes:
• Materials: $290
• Permits and inspections: $20
• Safety equipment and signage: $70
• Tools hire and delivery: $70
Thank you so much.

Rooting for you, Rashid. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Don't give up. Love from Durban.
Best of luck, Rashid. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Take care.
