The old Cedar bus depot needs a playground - Jayden's neighborhood project
A community-led a playground at the old Cedar bus depot that will serve 182 neighbors.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Cedar bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $1,150, and the remaining cost is $2,250.
It will serve about 182 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,250 goes:
• Materials: $1,400
• Permits and inspections: $290
• Safety equipment and signage: $200
• Tools hire and delivery: $360
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
