The old Baobab bus depot needs a community garden - Emma's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Los Angeles are raising $3,350 for a community garden at the old Baobab bus depot.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Baobab bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $3,350.
It will serve about 150 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.

• Tools hire and delivery: $330
