My family left Eritrea 13 months ago after we were targeted for our work. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Madrid. We're a family of eight and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 3 months of rent, and that support ends in November.
I was a shopkeeper in Eritrea, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent).
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Language classes and bus passes: $200
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $240
• Beds, table and basic furniture: $710
Thank you so much.

Thinking of you, Rafael. Your post was clear and honest. Wish I lived closer to Denpasar so I could bring a meal. Blessings.
Shared it with a few friends. We're a small family in Los Angeles but we're thinking of you. Blessings.
