My family left Yemen 12 months ago after we could no longer live safely. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Islamabad. We're a family of eight and we're safe, but we arrived with very little. Our resettlement agency has provided 4 months of rent, and that support ends in November. I was an engineer in Yemen, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well. We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months. All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent). Where the $300 goes: • Beds, table and basic furniture: $110 • Phone and internet for school and job search: $20 • Language classes and bus passes: $65 • Winter clothing and school supplies: $105 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen. - Khalid

You're not alone. This could happen to any of us. After 8 years in construction I know how hard it's to ask for anything.

      • it takes guts to ask. Well done. Love from Bogotá.
